Decent BBQ, worth the visit if you are in town. I did not get to sample the sausage, maybe the next time I am around. The BBQ sauce was a highlight, and I do not generally use any sauce, but I ate half of my food with it. The spicy one was very good. The brisket was cooked well and had good seasoning, but could have had a little more smoke flavor. I did like the turkey, moist and flavorful. Average sides. Great kids deals, $1.99 on Saturdays.

I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with Coleslaw and drink. Food is really good. The guys behind the counter are really nice.

Oh my, this was some DELICIOUS BBQ!!! Some friends and I were visiting Jacksonville over the weekend, and we went to JW's Barbecue for lunch. The sliced brisket and pulled pork were all amazing. We would have preferred toasted buns, but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. We will definitely eat at JW's on our next trip to Jacksonville. Yum! Yum!

Drive by feast. Left Austin, not quite fast enough, on the way to Atlanta and just as I said it's BBQ time, I saw the sign. Small sign, but still saw it. Made the U turn and parked. Getting out of the car, the smell itself said I picked the right place. And sure enough, great brisket, slaw, and bottomless unsweet tea. Service was fantastic and personable. So hurry in before they close at 3pmish.

Growing up in Jacksonville, I have many fond memories of Stacy's Barbecue, a local gem that's no longer around. After 20 years away, I was excited to discover JW's BBQ, which is rekindling that old East Texas barbecue magic. The brisket here is outstanding. The bark has just the right texture and flavor, and the meat is incredibly tender and moist. If you're a fan of sausage, the jalapeño cheddar sausage is something you can’t miss. The spice and flavor balance is spot on. Their sides are just as impressive. Both the elote and the collard greens were perfection. It’s rare to find a place that excels at sides as much as the main dishes, but JW's pulls it off effortlessly. It’s a real shame this place didn’t exist when I was growing up, but it’s now a must-visit whenever I’m back in town visiting family. This is destination-worthy barbecue, hands down.
